Amanda, the Advanced Maryland Automatic Network Disk Archiver, is an open-source backup solution that enables IT administrators to configure a single master backup server to back up multiple hosts over a network to tape drives, disk storage, or optical media. It utilizes native utilities and formats, such as 'dump' and GNU 'tar', to back up a large number of servers and workstations running various versions of Linux or Unix. For Microsoft Windows systems, Amanda employs a native Windows client to perform backups.

Windows: Windows XP or later, Samba or native client with open file support.
