glFTPd is a free, highly configurable FTP server designed for UNIX-based systems. Unlike many other FTP servers, it maintains its own user database, allowing complete online management via FTP site commands. Operating within a chroot environment enhances its security. Features include detailed user permissions, extensive scripting capabilities, and efficient file transfers using FXP. Its versatility makes it suitable for both legitimate uses and private servers.
Software Requirements:- A UNIX-like operating system (e.g., Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, macOS). OpenSSL for encrypted connections. xinetd or a similar super-server daemon for managing network connections. Hardware Requirements:- RAM: Minimum 64 MB; 128 MB or more recommended for better performance. Storage: At least 10 MB for installation; additional space required based on the volume of files to be managed. Processor: Any processor capable of running the chosen UNIX-like operating system; higher performance CPUs recommended for heavy traffic scenarios.
