Istio is an open-source service mesh that provides a uniform way to secure, connect, and monitor microservices. By deploying a proxy—Envoy—alongside each service, Istio manages traffic flows between services, enforces access policies, and aggregates telemetry data, all without requiring changes to the application code. This architecture simplifies the complexities of microservice communication, offering consistent and observable behavior across your deployments.
Software Requirements:- A Kubernetes cluster is required to deploy Istio. The istioctl client tool must be installed on your local machine. Ensure your Kubernetes CLI is up to date. Hardware Requirements:- Minimum of 4 GB RAM. At least 2 CPU cores. Approximately 20 GB of disk space.
