Smalltalk overview

Smalltalk / Squeak (1972) is a pioneering object-oriented programming language that significantly influenced modern software design, development practices, and the graphical user interface (GUI). It was developed by Alan Kay and his team at Xerox PARC and stands out as one of the earliest languages designed around the concept of objects and message passing. Smalltalk is not just a programming language but a whole environment, embodying a powerful philosophy of interactive, exploratory programming, making it ideal for educational purposes, prototyping, and large-scale software development.
