WinAVR is a suite of open-source development tools for AVR microcontrollers, primarily designed for the Windows platform. It includes the GNU GCC compiler (avr-gcc), libraries, and tools for programming AVR microcontrollers. The package also integrates debugging tools like AVRDude, as well as development environments like Programmers Notepad. The WinAVR 20100110 update includes an upgraded avr-gcc compiler with bug fixes and optimizations, an improved AVR-LibC with additional functions and better stability, and enhanced AVRDude support for programming AVR chips. It also features an upgraded Programmers Notepad with improved syntax highlighting and enhanced Makefile capabilities for easier project compilation.
